Micklagård Anorak Abisko II – Traditional Wool Bush Anorak – Raptor Outfitters
$774.00
A heavy wool anorak built the old way—no zips to jam, no plastic membranes to tear. Just thick Swedish wool, a generous hood, and enough room to layer up, hunker down, and get on with it.
Description
The Anorak Abisko 2 doesn’t care about trends.
It doesn’t fold into a pouch or claim to be breathable at 30,000 feet. It’s not the choice for ultralight day hikers or TikTok hikers doing it for the reel.
This is what you wear when you actually plan on staying warm. When the weather turns sideways, the hills are spitting wind, and you’re 10km from the truck. Made from thick wool and cut with room for serious layering underneath, the Abisko 2 is the kind of outer shell that’s been working for northern hunters and trappers since before synthetics were a thing.
Why we like it:
It’s quiet in the bush, sheds water like a sheep’s back, and has that perfect blend of ventilation and coverage. And since it’s made without zippers, buttons, or other modern failure points, it’s just about impossible to break. Old-school, in the best way.
Features:
Heavy wool construction – warm, wind-resistant, water-repellent
Traditional over-the-head pullover design
Deep front kangaroo pocket + map/document sleeve
Generous hood with drawstring closure
Side slits and gussets for mobility
Handmade in Sweden
Unisex sizing – roomy fit, designed to layer over midlayers or base thermals
Fit Tip:
This is a true bush anorak. Cut loose to go over your insulation—not hug your frame. For a closer fit, size down. Otherwise, layer up and let the wool work.
Care Instructions:
Shake it off, air it out. Wool doesn’t need much washing. Spot clean or cold wool wash only when necessary. Air dry flat. No dryers, no drama.
