Raptor Outfitters Distressed Cap

This is a baseball cap. It has our logo on it. We are not going to pretend otherwise.

What it is: a low-profile, unstructured 6-panel cap in 100% cotton twill with a washed-out vintage finish, and the Raptor bird embroidered on the front. The logo is subtle — dark embroidery on dark fabric, the kind of thing you notice up close rather than from across a paddock. That was deliberate. We are not interested in walking around as a billboard. The people who know the bird know it. Everyone else just sees a decent cap.

The embroidery is worth a brief mention because it is the right call for this style of hat. It sits in the fabric rather than on top of it, holds up through wear better than a print, and has a bit of texture to it. It is not hand-stitched in a Scandinavian workshop. It is embroidery on a cap. But it is the right detail done properly.

The build is what you would want: six sewn eyelets, adjustable metal snap buckle with an antique brass finish, black sweatband, and the distressed finish means each cap comes out slightly different. Not dramatically different. But enough that yours is yours.

Available in Charcoal Grey and Maroon. Both are darker and more subdued in person than they read on a screen. The Maroon is a deep wine, not a bright red. The Charcoal wears more blue-grey depending on the light.

Care: spot clean with warm water and dish soap. A soft-bristled brush for anything stubborn. No need to soak the whole thing — it will just make it look more distressed faster, which may or may not be what you are after.

If you have been looking for a reason to justify another cap, here it is. If you already own too many and still reach for the same ripped one every time, this might eventually become that cap. That is about as honest an endorsement as we can give.
